Gay Malaysia seen & heard

A ladyboy told me that the Malay term for sugardaddy is papa ayam. This, embarrassingly, translates as daddy (for) chicken. They also have a word for sugarbaby, but I forgot to ask what it is. Read the rest of this entry »

Drug boy 3

hugs-not-drugs.gif

I ran into drug boy once more, in the Internet cafe at night. He did not look at me, but went to the other side of the room and sat down by a computer. I stand out in the Internet cafe (as I stand out everywhere else in SE Asia), so I am sure he must have known I was there.

The boy looked a bit better than last time I saw him. He was not pale, or sweating. But compared to how he was three months ago his appearance has changed. His shoulders have sunk and he walks in this sneaky or maybe embarrassed way, as if he would prefer nobody could see him.

I feel uneasy about this guy now. He is by nature a sweet fellow, but I can see the drugs have changed him. Methampthetamine makes people aggressive and unpredictable.

I also see how he has lost weight. He was thin to begin with, now he is skinny. He used to be good looking, now he looks ill.

The way this is going he does not have much of a future as a moneyboy. Who would want him?

I know nothing about his family but he appears to be of an ordinary Malaysian middle class background. He is tall and light skinned. He is gay and on the fem side. He is intelligent and charming and his English is good. This guy should have a good life but first he need to stop digging himself into that drug hole.

Meet the replacement Bangkok airport

u-tapao2.jpg
Space for thousands of people

u-tapao.jpg
What more could you need?

I read reports about the overcrowded conditions at Pattaya airport U-tapao. Thousands of people are packed into the terminal building and traffic is jammed on the connecting roads.

U-tapao was something the US Air Force banged together in a few months in 1965 for the war in Vietnam. When the Americans left the Royal Thai Air Force took over the place. The Russians use it for charter flights from the cities in Siberia in the winter season.

U-tapao has a total of three (3) check-in counters. I don’t know how many Suv airport in Bangkok has, but it is more than three.

Thanks to Sergey from Novosibirsk for the photos I found on Flicker.

No sex please. This is Pattaya (continued).

laughter-smiley.gif

Pattaya City is finding ways remove prostitutes from it beaches in a general attempt to change the image of the city as a destination for sex tourism. Officials are instead trying to promote the city as a place for other activities such as sports and ecotourism, according to Mayor Itthipol Khunplome.

Ecotourism

The mayor and senior city officials met at city hall on November 18 to discuss yet again ways to counter the prevailing impression in some foreign media that the city was a destination for sex. Particular attention was given to a recent report in a Belgian newspaper that one in three residents of Pattaya was a sex worker.

PAD Inc

At least they are polite

The English is too good. Come on, fess up. Who wrote this for them?

Somehow supplies to keep thousands of people with food and water is getting through police lines.

I have decided to wait out the Bangkok hoopla by staying in Malaysia. Alternative travel northbound to Thailand is full, of course. Even if I can find seats the idea of spending 24 hours on busses and trains does not appeal to me. I have no pressing business in Bangkok anyway. I have asked friends to give Chalerm spending money.

Air Asia had a “rescue” flight to Pattaya Saturday afternoon, but that was one single plane from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore and Pattaya, returning to KL and Singapore. I assume other passengers had better sob stories than I have.

Poor Chalerm has tried to check if my flight number comes up in the system. He can not get through. But I told him it is no use as long as the airport is closed.

Let us see what happens next week. This is the 4th day. When the airport has been closed for 10 days the pressure should become unbearable and something should start to give.

Bangkok airport crisis solved

Bruce Willis Reportedly In Suvarnbhumi Vent System
‘Die Hard’ star was passing through terminal on connecting flight when it was taken over

BANGKOK – Police say they are ready to reclaim the Bangkok International Airport with the help of Hollywood actor Bruce Willis, who is currently crawling inside Terminal 2’s air conditioning system.

Police say the ‘Die Hard’ star immediately ducked into a maintenance room and then climbed through a vent when he saw that the airport was being taken over on Wednesday. He is now in communication with Bangkok police via a walkie talkie he lifted from a PAD guard whom he strangled to death.

Willis will likely draw specifically upon Die Hard 2: Die Harder for inspiration in overcoming the PAD and returning normalcy to Thailand. In that film, his character John McClane thwarted terrorists who had taken over Washingtong-Dulles International Airport.

Sources say Willis has asked permission from police to use similar tactics, including igniting a fuel trail to blow up a plane with all the PAD leaders in it. Bruce really can’t believe he is in this situation again but he is eager to help, said police spokesman lieutenant Sombat Sreephathep. “We will see if he can infiltrate the PAD from inside the airport. On behalf of the entire Royal Bangkok Police force, I would like to say, ‘Yippee-ki-yay, Bruce.’”

After hearing that Willis was hiding inside Suvarnbhumi’s air ducts, a cocky Sonthi Limthongkul said it would be impossible for one man to single-handedly wreck his plans. But as a precautionary measure, he has reportedly tied used tampons to the grates of all vents inside Terminal 2.

Thailand the banana republic

banana.jpg

So PM Somchai has declared a state of emergency at the airports in Bangkok. Will that lead to anything?

Does Somchai have enough authority left to clear the airports by force? The commanders will want to know which way the wind blows as they are afraid of getting blamed for any bloodshed if they are on the losing side.

Rumours about a miltary coup swirl in Bangkok, as usual.

The Nation quotes the head of the Airporth Authority of Thailand as saying Suv Airport will open again on the 29th of November at 6pm. How can he know that?

I think I will just stay in Malaysia a while longer.

From my wife
